Love the Endurance Race

I think the hardest part about being me is that I catch feelings too quick.
No matter what I've been through, I still feel far too much.
I am not naive by any means but I wonder sometimes what love really is.
Is love truly the slow and steady endurance race of forever that so many succumb themselves to?
If that were true, then why is it that I attract men who are in so called committed relationships?
They must be so fed up and bored with the women they so called love.
If love really is the long dull endurance race then I don't want to run.
I am ducking out and hiking up the hills to be a hermit in the woods before someone sees me and tries to drag me back into the race.
I think I'd rather sit on a rock alone on the mountain and pick up the odd straggler that got lost then be in a relationship where he will get bored and go looking for someone a bit more wild then me to chat up.
So for those of you who would rather stick in the race and just venture over to me for a good time and then stumble back dazed and shell shocked because I rocked your world  -  I solute you.

The only downside is, sometimes you meet one of those men who straggle away from the race and you really connect with them.  They really shake me down to my core.  I really really like them.  Then what do you do?
I start to crave them.
I need to get a grip on myself.
At least I've learned to not talk about how I feel to him.
I'm not the one who walks away but it's impossible to forget him.
